Vatan Cable puts aluminum facility into service

Our Company operating with Low Voltage Cable Manufacturing Plant, Medium and High Voltage Cable Manufacturing Plant, Copper Production Plant, Aluminum Plant, Plastic Granules Manufacturing Plant makes a production within production facilities comprising of 40 thousand square meters of indoor and 150 thousand square meters of outdoor area in Çorlu. As celebrating the 39th year our company has began to make a distinguished name for herself all over the world together with the production complex, head office and with the staff of over 200 employees working in Ankara regional directorate, and with the R & D and new facility investments that have been made in recent years.
Our company added the Aluminum Production Plant to the facilities owned at the end of 2013, has started the production with a capacity of 1000 tons per month in the aluminum plant.
Whereas the produced aluminum conductors are used in low voltage cables and in medium and high voltage cable they are also sold to transformers and other cable manufacturing, wire manufacturing companies. Our manufacturing is realized in AAC (pure aluminum), AAAC (Alloy Conductor) types using Aluminum rods in the diameters of 7,5-9,5 mm2/OD. Aluminum rod types of EC Grade (1350) and Alloy (1120-6201 & 6101) are used in our production. Especially in the European and African countries aluminum conductors has started to be preferred due to both the price advantage and lightweight of the produced cables.
Our copper plant that has several examples worldwide but unique in Turkey is established next to our low-voltage and medium-voltage systems in Çorlu in 2009. Together with the opening of our copper production plant, our company has evolved into an integrated facility. In our copper plant copper that arrives in as cathodes is converted to liquid copper by melting to 1250-1300 degrees. The cathodes are brought into wire rods in 8 mm 12 mm and 16 mm of 99.99% purity in order to be used in our cables in our facility that is working with the upCast method. In our manufacturing facility that is using the latest technology 3 people work in shifts.
In addition, HALOGEN-FREE Cables are manufactured in our facility which the usage has been made mandatory in our country in places with high density of people which does not emit dense smoke and toxic gases during a fire thus in case of fire, safety of life and property at the highest level of protection is ensured in this way.

Another issue is that each country wants to make its own production now. Some countries that want to protect their own companies create trouble by demanding high tariffs for imported cables.
One of the most important problems in the cable industry is that some companies use scrap copper. Scrap copper that is mixed with electrolytic copper cathode while melting constitutes a price difference between 3% to 6% according to the usage rate. When time comes, orders are taken in our industry with the difference 0.5% in price thus these rates leads to an unfair advantage. these poor quality cables produced by copper waste cause decreased productivity, the short use life of the cable therefore leads to consumers pour their money in th drain. Our company by using London Metal Exchange (LME) approved electrolytic copper cathodes, gives confidence to our customers with quality and service.
