Solutions from “Solmaz Makine” to Cable Industry

Have you experienced customer and market diversification in the remaining part of the year? Can you give us information about your customers and your market?
We started our business life under the title of “Solmaz Makine (Solmaz Machinery)” in 1982 and we currently continue to operate under the title of “Solmaz Endüstriyel Tasarım (Solmaz Industrial Design)”. During this period, we developed our relations with our existing customers on one hand and increased the number and diversity of our new customers on the other hand. Our company operating in the wire rope industry until 2008 has also started to make manufacturing machinery for the cable industry as from this date. Demand for aluminum cable instead of copper cable due to lower prices increased the need for tubular strand type of cable knitting machinery in the sector rapidly and helped our development in this market.
Would you please evaluate the first part of the year in terms of your company? Did you achieve your performance goals in the domestic and overseas markets?
While continuing our routine works in the first part of the year such as the production of fork windersopeners, preformer heads, dressage groups, caterpillars, motor cab stains and machine maintenance, we increased our product range and added new machines to our product portfolio. In addition to 1+4 1000 Planet Knitting Machines we produced previously, we delivered a 1+8 500 Planet Knitting Machines to our customers at the beginning of this year. We made offers for selling machines at home and abroad.
Do you have works for new facilities, products or R&D?
We moved to our workshop with an area of 750 m2 at the beginning of 2012. We completed last year our 1+6 630 Tubular Strander Knitting Machine supported by KOSGEB (Small and Medium Industry Development Organisation) which we started in the same period. While designing our machine we paid attention that it is a machine with speed and quality which fits the European Standard facilities established by the cable industry. We can produce machines from1 + 6 up to 1+ 36 and from 160 reel up to 630 reel as tubular strander. The bearings of all of our machines are special bearings and these bearings are continuously lubricated with automatic lubrication systems. Our screw pitch is set with electronically controlled AC driver. Tack weld pinols are opened and closed by Air Driving method. The machine has a soundproofed protection cover.
What are your predictions for the year end?
We want to start manufacturing a 1 + 12 630 tubular strander knitting machine. We also started Kosgeb industrial application project this year. We want to make the productions we cannot make within our company and shorten our delivery time and improve our quality and efficiency.
