Can you give information about your company’s organization and activities?
Patent Engineering, is a company with 35 years history. Our company was established as a small workshop and today our two factories in Düzce Gebze are operating in a total area of 11,500 m² and 6500 m² closed area. Our staff including manufacturing and project staff is composed of 90 permanent employees. All intermediate processes required for manufacturing in our factory is made with our own machines. Every year up to 2 to 3 % of our revenues is used in in R & D investments. This investmentis done in different fields in staff training, software, program, and new products.development Patent Engineering, theis one of the few companies in industrial plant investments in Turkey. Our 35 years of experience, our infrastructure, our staff, our projects and our production facilities are our references. We also design project specific designs for customers with our staff. Our priorities are quality and customer satisfaction.

Which sectors do you offer solutions? What are your product groups?
We provide installation and contracting, design, engineering, shipping services, machinery production for cable, power, chemical, food, detergent, paper, paint, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, wood, plastic, metal, textile, cement industries and process system manufacturing.

How was the year 2013 in terms of your company? Did you make targeted investments?
In 2013 we got the opportunity to make new investments extending the targets. Thus, in 2013, we gave weight to investment in plant and machinery. We increased its capacity to a capacity three times the previous capacity with additional investments in Duzce 1st Organized Industrial Zone, Our goal is to meet the equipment needs of power plants and do the installation of industrial facilitieson a turnkey basis. Our marketing and sales -oriented investment also continues to grow. Every year, we participate in fairs, 1 fair in Germany and 3 fairs in Turkey, in line with our goals fort he industries.
Can you give information about your R & D activities?
Due to the fact that we are a company engaged in project-based manufacturing, in almost all our projects, we do a new design and R & D. Our staff is our locomotive, and we conduct planned trainings for their developments in our projetcts. We strive to ensure that the adaptation to innovations is realised through the necessary software and programs, trainings, seminars, for our staff. At least 2% of turnover is spent in R&D every year. As a result of our studies on aqueous gas filter, we have brought to Turkey a system which used to be imported with 1 million euros price to its half price. Thus, we saved 12 million euros for Turkey.
Do you export? What are your overseas operations?
As we work on a project basis and it is a bit difficult to talk about definitive export figures obviously. In some years, our export values are 30%, in others, it is 10%. In addition as some projects we did for some firms were exported by themselves, our exports reached 40 % indirectly in 2013. Now with the increased capacity growth, the internal market is not enough for us. For this reason, our goal is to focus on Middle East and the Arab countries due to the impact of the crisis in Europe. With our new capacity in 2014, we aim to do industrial machinery and equipment manufacturing which are normally imported from abroad in Turkey. In addition with the export of these and similar manufacturing, we will have our contribution in the double -sided export in 2014. 2023 target is not unattainable for. Turkey. Turkey will grow and develop more than over the past 10 years in the next 10 years.
