The cable sector is on the rise. The closure of facilities in China during the epidemic, and the closure of facilities in Europe due to high energy costs, have made Turkey a cable base. Murat Coşkun provided information on the industry and his firm with us, stating that this good momentum will continue for the next 5 years, that those that manufacture value-added products and have solid finances will survive, but that they foresee these fragilities may develop after 5 years.

Mr. Murat, could you please describe yourself simply and tell me when your firm began doing business?

May name is Murat Coşkun. I’ve been working in this industry for 11 years. I worked in the export section of three different corporations in various positions. My partner and I launched ABC cable in 2022. In Kayseri, we began manufacturing 0.6/1kv cables and transmission line conductors. Our plant will reach full manufacturing capacity in July.

Can you tell me about your business and its products? What is the scope of your offerings?

In Kayseri, we began manufacture of 0.6/1kv cables and transmission line conductors under the name ABC Kablo. In July, our plant will be operating at full capacity. AER ALPEK, ABC CABLES, AAC, AAAC, ACSR CONDUCTORS, NAYY, NA2XY, NYY, and N2XY cables are among the products we provide.

What would you want to say about your company’s market strength and position in terms of the industries in which you supply products?

We manufacture items based on our expertise in European type conductors and cables. This is the most significant difference between us and our competition.

Can you provide information on the evolution of the Turkish cable industry’s global position?

The cable sector is on the rise. The closure of facilities in China during the epidemic, and the closure of facilities in Europe due to high energy costs, have made Turkey a cable base. We expect this positive trend to continue for the next five years, with those that produce value-added goods and have solid finances surviving, although fragilities may emerge after that time.

It is critical to sustain success in your industry, as it is in any area; what types of research do you do in this field?

It is tough to succeed in any industry, but it is far more difficult to sustain success. Increasing costs and shifting metal prices are quite difficult for us. We are able to overcome them as a result of our experience and additional value. We have focused on untapped markets that are tough for Turkey. This ensures that our success will last.

How did 2022 go for your business? And what are your plans for 2023? Do you intend to make fresh investments?

We started in 2022. We developed fiveyear investment and business strategies. Our objective for 2023 is to become a fullcapacity facility.
