Would you please provide information as to your company’s corporate identity?
We, as MimtekMakine, are an innovation company which has enhanced the technical infrastructure thereof with the experience of ÖZMAK and ERTEKİN for more than 30 years. We are a leading enterprise which offers best solutions for customer requirements in field of Cable and Plastic Industry Machinery, carrying its Cable and Plastic Pipe Machinery manufacturing culture, which it has been developing for years, one step further and this corresponds to 30 years as from date of establishment and in that period it was not even possible to mention the name of any established company to be able to produce cable machines in international standards in the sector.
What would you tell us about your products and their usage areas?
Our products which we name as Cable and Plastic Pipe Making Machines comprise just one single cable and almost all machines operating in a pipe factory. These include (Take-up & Pay-off Machines, Extruders, Cross-heads, Tow Vehicles (Caterpillar), Taping Machines, Single/Double Twist Bunchers, Rigid Strander, Granule Machines and etc.
What would you like to tell as to the standards you utilize in production?
We make production of all machines in the most state-of-the-art form in order that they can produce cables in line with standards accepted in the world rather than standard products.
What are your views on competition in the sector?
Much as the competition in the sector may seem to be beneficial for the cable manufacturers in the short term, it gives damage to the whole industry in the long run inasmuch as the machine manufacturer companies renew themselves in terms of machinery-equipment and personnel. Companies which do not manufacture products different from others in the sector will not be able to maintain their presence, lose their profitability and consequently will leave the sector. As such, companies which do not have enough sufficient works to survive, try to get works by lowering the prices which prevents service and quality as well as new investments of the experienced companies. In this context, we have to be happy when a company in our sector undertakes a big project and fills the capacity thereof rather than being jealous because it will not give harm to price stability in this situation.
Would you please provide information as to the role and significance of your company in Turkey and in the international market?
Our company, with its long years of experience, is not only a company which produces tailor-made products for clients in accordance with their specifications, but also designs turnkey factories in various categories from A to Z (such as low voltage power cables, MV, HV and EHV cable factories and granule factories) it takes the factories and distributes them to the employees. We believe that this is a great gain and added value for our country.
What are the main issues you experienced as a company in 2017? What measures are you planning to take in 2018 so that such issues do not continue?
Before talking about the first quarter of 2018, I would like to provide your esteemed side with some information about the past. First and foremost, according to data of some internationally important and leading research/reporting institutions export of electrical machinery from Turkey has shown significant decrease from 17 billion USD in 2013 to 14 Billion USD in 2014 , 12 billion USD in 2015 and 8 billion USD in 2016. The main reason for this occurrence is not based on the failure of the manufacturer/exporter companies but the cyclical situation in which our country is arising from terrorism, internal/external threats, economic bottlenecks and etc. However, we foresee that 2018 will be a very good year both for our company and our sector due to the stability in our country and the upward movement in the economy as well as the prestige our country has gained in the international platforms. Sure enough, the domestic and international projects we have undersigned as of the beginning of 2018 can be considered as the biggest indicators to that effect.
What kind of investments and projects are you planning to make in line with your company’s targets in 2018?
We hope that 2018 will be an investment and breakthrough year in terms of personnel and machinery parks and technical infrastructure. Our HFFR granule machine is also in the test phase in our factory. We will add PVC and nonstick filling to our portfolio which we produce since 2 years in the nest2 to 3 months. We aim to make a rapid increase in the production of granules beside machine production by adding HFFR filler and insulation and outer sheath production.
What would you like to add lastly?
I wish the year 2018 brings success and prosperity to all of the companies in the sector.
