LOW-VOLTAGE CURRENT CABLES OF EURASIA TUNNEL SUPPLIED BY 2M KABLO!

2M Kablo’s special low voltage current command/control cables were preferred in Eurasia Tunnel, the world’s first two-story highway tunnel under the sea, opened for use as of December 22, 2016.
Security of the electrical and electronic control infrastructure was prioritized while the Eurasia tunnel was built with maximum security. In particular, fire resistant signal, control, fire alarm and also halogen-free flame retardant signal and control cables and RS485 communication cables used in vital electronic equipment of the tunnel were produced by 2M Kablo.
Fire-resistant cables produced specifically for the Eurasia Tunnel can continue to transport power and signal under fire up to 180 minutes. In this way, the data from the tunnel is transmitted continuously to the operation center and the possibility of tunnel intervention is provided without any problem in case of any problems that may arise.
Furthermore, halogen-free plastics, which are designed specifically for the Eurasia tunnel, have been used instead of plastics containing halogen harmful to human health, which can be emitted due to overheating of electrical wiring or burning of cables.
Eurasia Tunnel is a tunnel connecting the Asian and European sides of Istanbul beneath the seabed in the route of Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe districts through a highway tunnel and connecting roads. The total route is 14,6 kilometers with the tunnel and connection roads and it is the second tube tunnel project after the Marmaray tube tunnel in İstanbul. The project built in 1.8 kilometers south of the Marmaray to provide an alternative road in Bosporus in addition to three bridges and one ferryboat for vehicles will share the traffic load of the existing three bridges and ferryboat and provide a more balanced urban transport. The travel time of 100 minutes in heavy traffic between Kazlıçeşme and Göztepe districts is expected to come down to 15 minutes by virtue of the Eurasia Tunnel project.
