Mr.Kakillioğlu, mentioning that there is not a serious lack of standards in our country in cables as in many other areas also stated that that there are no major differences between Turkish brands and international brands. There are high quality products in the market and they trigger the growth of the cable industry. In addition, although our cable standards are at the European level, we cannot unfortunately say the same thing for market control, legislation and sanctions.
Can you make an evaluation as to the cable industry in the world and in Turkey in the first half of 2015?
It can be said when we examine the Turkish cable sector in the period including the middle of last year and the first 6 months of 2015 that political and social events in neighboring countries have affected the sector. Furthermore, the Turkish cable sector mainly appeals to emerging markets. However, we can say that the wars occurring in some of these markets also have some negative reflections on the Turkish cable industry.
In addition to all these, entry of Turkish goods is blocked due to high tariff walls and presence of regional customs unions in many of these markets. In addition, highness of freight costs compared to our competitors decreases our chance of competition.
The largest market share of cable sectors is obtained by exporting however every country has different standards and certifications. How does your company ensure these standards?
We, Hes Kablo, have valid certifications both at home and abroad. Products manufactured in our plants have quality systems quality certificates such as ISO, TSE, VDE, GOST, UKRSEPRO ve KEMA including especially ISO 9001, ISO 10002, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, ISO 50001 and TS 18001 in addition to periodically made audits by national and international surveillance companies…
In addition, our laboratories have TURKAK certifications. I think that such certificates have utmost importance both for consumers and in terms of high quality production of the manufacturers. In this respect, we operate as a reliable brand both in domestic and foreign markets.
Furthermore, if we consider these standards in terms of the cable industry and considering that the cable is an infrastructure product with a life of 30 to 40 years compliance of cables with standards and additional specifications thereof according to place of usage are of great importance. As such, a knowledgeable and experienced technical team, without fail, has to be engaged in production, design, sales and procurement processes. Losses and risks which will occur as a result of wrong decisions given by people who do not have sufficient technical knowledge will not only affect that person or company but everyone using the system to which this cable is connected for 30 to 40 years. The result of the errors eventually will be reflected in to the economy of the country.
The cable industry has grown very fast in Turkey in the last 10 years, growing is very important but how you can evaluate the quality of growth?

If we observe the growth of the cable industry in the last 10 years in Turkey, we can see that construction industry is the largest sector which affects also the other industries position… Construction industry is one of the biggest industries that trigger the cable industry. New investments, and increasingly growth of the sector branded residential industry also affect the cable industry. Branded housing or housing made with urban renewal is appropriate for the modern world and well-equipped structures in terms of both safety technology. It is evident that these structures create a positive impact in the cable industry while they are built.
