Çengel stating that they have carried out manufacture of machinery such as production lines and wrappers, unloaders, cabling cooling channels etc. used for production of fiber optic, energy and communication cables since 25 years, said “especially in recent years, we have proved to companies that we are a reliable manufacturer of heavy type wrappers and unloaders with 5000 mm diameter and weight of up to 60 tons manufactured for high voltage and underwater cables as well as of cabling machines having 6000 kg of pulling force.
Safety, performance and ease of use are among a product’s most important characteristics. How safe your products are,how good is their performance, what kind of ease of use they provide for their users?
We attach great importance to safety in relation with products we have manufactured in order to minimize insecure situations which may occur during manufacture. We take measures by taking into consideration all physical and psychological negative effects of people using machinery we have manufactured. Regarding performance, we believe that customer satisfaction will be stronger the more our machinery meets expectations. High performance will always produce positive feed-back. While targeting high performance, we take into account comfortable use of machinery by the using staff. We always make available a simple design and documents such as instructions and directions which enable ease of use setting forth the way to be followed by users. We ensure constant improvement through feed-backs coming from our customers.
Why perception of quality and product standards in Turkey is always for example, behind England or Germany? Does the problem arise from lack of the legislation or insensitivity of consumerstowards the matter? May you share your opinions?
Price issue comes to the forefront here. Products are manufactured at cheaper prices in our country compared to many countries. In order to remain competitive, prices shouldn’t be kept high. And that prevents mostly use of high quality raw materials. Our manufacturers’ product standards may not be high due to materials used in order to ensure price and quality balance. Generally it doesn’t arise from lack of the legislation but preference of consumers.
GmmMakine has a large product portfolio in terms of products and services. It should have difficulties as much as it has advantages. How do you ensure reliable operation of the organization?
One of the biggest issues of companies basing on order is the coordination. Coordination may be ensured reliably in production systems managed properly and in which information flow is considered important. Communication between the administrator and employee is an important concept. An administrator who knows what should be done is not sufficient. He should also transmit his knowledge to the employee. If the information balance between administrator and employee is established well at the beginning, any problem occurred or to be occurred in future during the process will be solved within the shortest time. We, as the GMM Company attach great importance to communication between us.
May you provide information on your products and services? Do you plan product and service diversity?
Our company provides its services by manufacturing machinery such as production lines and wrappers, unloaders, cabling cooling channels etc. used for manufacture of fiber optic, energy and communication cables since approximately 25 years in the cable sector. Especially in recent years, we have proved that we are a reliable manufacturer of heavy type wrappers and unloaders with 5000 mm diameter and weight of up to 60 tons manufactured for high voltage and underwater cables as well as of cabling machines having 6000 kg of pulling force.
As is in all sectors, does sustaining success in machinery sector have importance and what kind of works are you doing in this field?
We have various works to sustain our success. Customers firstly observe prices and quality for the product to be purchased. Producing quality products doesn’t mean producing expensive products. In direction with this information, we have works to reduce our costs. Furthermore, delivery of the product on time increases of your value from your customer’s point of view. We carry out our planning accordingly in order to deliver the product on the delivery date given to our customer. Briefly, we do our best to establish a good profile from our customer’s point of view.
How many countries do you have in your export portfolio and what are their shares?
Our sales are to countries such as Turkey, Germany, France, Swiss, Belgium, Norway, Austria and Czech Republic.In recent years, our machinery sales to the African market which was among our targets continue and our structuring in relation with marketing in these countries still continues. We aim for Northern and Southern American markets and we will extend our sales area by making sales to these countries.
