Can you provide information on your company’s corporate identity?
Our company’s incorporation year is 1999 and merged into the Boydak Holding in year 2009. Following accomplishment of the transfer transaction, investments amounting to more than 25 billion Euros have been implemented. Now, our total employee number is 180.
Can you tell us about your product range for the elevator sector? Is there any new product you will put on the market in the next period?
We are manufacturing elevator ropes up to the diameter 8- 14 mm used currently in elevator systems. In addition, we offer intensely elevator ropes of 6,50 mm to the market in the last one year whose need is almost wholly met by imported products. Besides, in case of any demand, we have the capability to manufacture ropes used for high speed elevators on project basis. In the next periods, we won’t offer any new product to the market.
How was year 2014 in terms of your company? Can you tell us about your targets and foresights for year 2015?
Year 2014 was a year during which our market share increased both at home and abroad by expanding our actual product portfolio in terms of our company. In year 2015, we would like to take firm steps forward in order to become sector’s leader by increasing our market share further within the domestic market, by increasing our customers and market varieties for export and by sustaining our works for value added products.
Do you plan to make new investments in the next periods? We have no planned investments for now. In terms of trendsetting, does your company have any innovation brought or to be brought to the market in the last period?
Our research and development activities and test productions still continue for special ropes class.
What kind of contributions new projects, urban transformation process and renewal market made to the sector? We have no evaluation on this matter. What kind of advantages do you provide for construction companies?
We think we provide significant advantage in terms of lifetime in case that they comply with required usage instructions. However, long lifetime of an elevator system is not only ensured by quality ropes. Ropes as well as other materials used in the system must be fully selected from quality brands. Otherwise, even though you use the best and top quality ropes, you won’t get the expected performance. Construction companies subcontract installation of elevator systems to other companies. Therefore, they must obligate companies they are working with to use quality products. They must aim smooth operation of the system for a long time by selecting quality products which means whose unit price is low instead of producing the work at low cost. Recently, we saw that building dwellers incur extra costs in order to solve problems detected in the system due to defects in elevator system of buildings of 2-3 years.
If you prefer quality products at the beginning, such costs won’t be incurred and thus, you will make a contribution to our country’s economy. Using poor quality and cheap far eastern materials in order to produce the work at low costs causes extra spent money. Therefore, we have got to raise quality awareness of construction companies, subcontractors as well as individuals in order to use scarce resources in the most effective way.
Can you briefly evaluate your sector? Can you provide information on issues you encounter in the sector?
Considering our sector’s principal issues, we believe that we will be able to assess our sector in general terms by answering this question. Principal issues are generally final users not attaching importance to quality materials, high selling rate and demand for cheap Far East originated products and auxiliary materials used for rope production within the market which lack of quality in this context. In the last year, approximately 8.200 tons of rope was imported from Far East to our country and that quantity may be very easily met by domestic production capacity. Besides, final product quality is directly affected, our costs increase and our chance to compete with imported products within the market is eliminated due to auxiliary materials used in rope production which are manufactured out of standards at home and since production of quality materials is not considered important as well as due to the dominant idea that everybody make it in that way. In this context, rope companies making production at home should be insistent and leading towards manufacturers of intermediary and auxiliary materials in order to attain the required quality level.
