Can you provide information on 3M TURKEY? Can you tell us about incorporation objective of and position reached by 3M TURKEY today?
As 3M, we generate new ideas for more than hundred and ten years and transform these ideas into brain wave products. Using our advanced technologies in new and unexpected ways, we offer our innovation capability to our customers through more than 55.000 products.
3M consists globally of 5 main business groups which are Consumer Product Group, Electronics and Energy Group, Healthcare Products Group, Industry Products Group and Safety and Graphic Solutions Group as well as 28 active sales and marketing departments under these groups. 3M whose annual sales figure is 31 billion dollars having its operations in 70 countries has 89.000 employees throughout the World. Number of employees in Turkey where 3M operates since year 1987 is 580. Turkey is the largest third country of Central and Eastern Europe in terms of earned income. What kind of products and services 3M provides for cable or electricity sector?
As electrical products department, cable solutions constitute 50% of our portfolio. Resinous cable joints (for electric transmission lines and mining sector) especially cable joints for AG, cable terminations and joints for OG and YG, cable connectors of various types, cable marking and branding solutions as well as shift chemicals used for cable cleaning and cabling are among our principal solutions.
How did your sector perform in year 2014? Can you inform us regarding your foresights for year 2015?
Year 2014 was an uneven year for electricity sector as it was for many other sectors during which various measures were taken mostly against currency fluctuations. Generally, it was a year during which infrastructure and power generation investments continued and sector was active and we put our signature under many projects we accomplished successfully. In addition, we passed the year 2014 effectively by making market and potential studies as well in relation with new strategies to be put into practice and new products and services to be placed on the market in 2015. Year 2015 seems to be a year which will prompt all actors within the market to take various measures once again due to currency fluctuations. We consider 2015 as a year full of opportunities during which we will continue to grow by taking our share from market types we don’t deal in through various products and service types. We will serve our customers more closely through different channels and very assorted products by concentrating on our Maintenance&Repairing products that we know they have a huge potential but we have not focused very much, together with infrastructure projects we have given more weight to until this year. Our organizational and product launch works still continue on this matter.
What are your expectations and projects for year 2015? Do you consider any product and service diversity?
In March 2015, as it was in the last year we will meet our customers and business partners at our company’ booth for WIN Electrotech fair. We expect very much from the fair as well as year 2015. As 3M Electrical Products Department, we will continue to increase 3M brand and quality awareness within the market through our growing sales and dealership organization, our new product range developed for electricity markets on which we will focus newly, product advertising days we are planning to carry out in different cities and locations and final user technical training seminars to which we will give weight this year once again as it does every year. As usual, we will sustain our frame breaking company perception by continuing to provide 3M’s innovative technology and application solutions to our customers which are known to be superior to products and solutions available in the market. In year 2015, our customers will see us more frequently through our Maintenance& Repairing products.
Finally, would you like to add anything else?
Year 2015 will be a year full of opportunities in spite of all estimated challenges. Companies which will make use of these opportunities will find new markets as well as take market shares from their rivals and continue to grow. As 3M, we consider this year as a year during which we will accomplish both of them.
