XINDA Accelerated R&D Efforts for PP Meltblown Nonwoven Fabric Industry;

PP Meltblown Fabric is a thermoplastic based microfiber nonwoven material made from high mfi PP material (meltblown compound). This material is so popular nowadays as the key material of Facial Mask productions.

PP meltblown fabrics are produced in two steps. The first step is the preparing of Meltblown Compounds (High MFI PP). The fabric producers can buy this compounds from out or can prepare themself by using a compounder (Twin screw extruder or Co-Kneader compounding system). The second stage is the extending out the meltblown compound from a special design die by high velocity air after melted in an extrusion system. In this process, the high velocity air blows the meltblown compound as fibers to a conveyor or a roller. Then, the edges of the cooled material are cut and wrapped on a roll.

This method offers high technology micro fiber nonwoven fabrics characterised by;

• Lower fiber thickness,
• More surface area, more fiber quantity per square centimeter,
• Low porosity,
• Less weight,
• High liquid absorbancy,
• High electrostatic absorption,
• Anti-wrinkle property,

Due to above properties PP meltblown fabrics have excellent advantages for filtration applications such as facial masks, hepa filters, insulation, etc.

With the increasing demand of the meltblown fabric, XINDA is focusing on this subject in the last months. Xinda is producing co-rotate twin screw extruders and Co-Kneader compounding systems to make PP meltblown compounds (Mfi 1500+). Also, Xinda is producing and selling the PP Meltblown Compounds and Electret PP masterbatch which is produced in Xinda compund production factory.

Finally, you can find below the advantages of XINDA compound systems for PP Meltblown compound production;

1, Automatic dosing system: Loss-in-weight feeders are used for the dosing of PP and DCP, which guaranteed the high accuracy for the stable MFI of meltblown PP.

2, Special die head design: Special designed channels enables high-flow melts uniformly runs in the die head with same dwell time.

3, High torque gearbox: High torque gearbox guarantees a relatively longer dwell time for the PP and DCP, which reduce down the fluctuation of MFI.
