Mr. Samet Şahin, Head of Toksel Makina Sales and Marketing Dept., stating that Toksel Makina branded products provide services to users in 52 countries of the world, has mentioned that Toksel Makina has never acquired competition in price as a principle but adopted the vision of competing in quality and always enjoyed the rightful happiness of providing the best quality and the best technology of the world with the most reasonable prices. Mr. Şahin answered our questions as regards his company and products.
Can you give us information about the corporate identity of Toksel Makina?
Toksel Makina Ltd, established in Istanbul province in 1970 as a family business, still
continues to work as a manufacturer and exporter of natural and artificial stone processing technologies since 1989. Furthermore, our company enjoys the rightful happiness of being the only domestic manufacturer of systems which are used as auxiliary units in the winding of materials such as cable, wire, ribbon, wick, bobbin, rope and etc. since more than 30 years and which are named as linear motion systems or shaper by the sector. Mr. Murat Tokmaktepe the General Manager of Toksel Makina Ltd. and Mr. İsmail Tokmaktepe, the Operations Manager are the second generation managers of our family in the organization scheme.
Our company currently is a within the process of Turquality and a Professional approach is applied in this process to support Turkey’s claim of being a world brand’s by examining all the processes from secretary to accounting, management to production, design to sales and after sales services from the scratch in finest details by specialists and academicians.
On this opportunity, we became highly convinced that our company, its colors and pr works should be reviewed while its corporate identity should be updated. Therefore, we have launched an intensive work with a specialist agency as regards our corporate identity, corporate website, websites about products, catalogs and e-bulletins. Can you tell us about your production capacity and the products you have produced?
Our company produces linear motion systems, shapers and rewinder units which are used as auxiliary units in the winding of materials such as cable, wire, ribbon, wick, bobbin, rope and etc. Of which we are the only domestic manufacturer.

Could you talk about your R & D works?
Our firm operating in the Kocaeli/Dilovası region works on a closed area of 13 thousand square meters and allocated a covered area of 1500 square meters for the R&D Works thereof.
Our company has the plan of establishing one of the biggest R & D centers of our country and aims to make works as to all the products used but not produced in our country in the 1500 square meter closed area which is allocated for the R & D center and prevent the importation of these products and will continue to offer the best quality products that the industry can obtain to market while carrying out all the foregoing activities.
Could you explain us about the place and importance of your company in Turkey and International market?
40% of the turnover of Toksel Makina Ltd. in 2016 and 2017 consisted of exports. Toksel Makina, which is a world giant in natural stone processing technology, is one of the rare companies making exports to countries such as America and Canada while it is still the only company in the sector making exports to these countries. Almost all of its exports were realized for these regions within these periods. Toksel Makina branded products provide services to users in 52 countries of the world.

What do you do to increase your domestic and international sales?
We are a company which believes that the most fundamental step towards increasing our sales is to present better services and better quality machines to the market each and every passing day. We do not compromise on quality without fail, we have our unique works to keep our own after-sales service team active and our sales and after sales services continue to perform the works thereof in a system that is flexible enough to expand always. Our factory, in addition to administrative, warehouse and shipment sections, consists of mechanical assembly section, technological furnace painting section, metal cutting section and welded connection section. We have CNC router and processing machines operating with universal logic in our metal cutting section. Furthermore we have CMM “coordinate measuring devices” for precise measurements.
Moreover, we have benches with high capacity processing machines within the borders of Istanbul provinces owned only by Toksel Makina Ltd. Şti. I would like to highlight one of these for the benefit of our sector. We have a Borwick sidebench with capacity of 18x4x4 meter piece processing. Our bench has two processing heads as one straight and one angled, and it is equipped with magazine. Processing can be made with the index logic thanks to the rotary table.
The similar benches are used in tank processing plants in France’s defense industry. It can give a large amount of pass thanks to its high torque capacity and ensure performance of difficult operations easily while its biggest feature is its ability to process pieces with a length of 18 meters in one operation. I also find it useful to state the fact that there are not very many machines in our country which can process these sizes.
What are targets of your company in 2017? Will you have new projects?
We are a company which makes plans for short, medium and long terms. Taking long steps to be able to succeed within the Turquality process is in our agenda. We are going to partake in a fair organization organized in Istanbul CNR EXPO fair in October and I want to be successful on behalf of my company.
We will add new R & D projects to state-funded R & D projects which we successfully completed in 2016. We wish to complete our R & D projects within this year on which we are currently working by aiming a constantly high quality production in the sector. Production of our 3 different projects with high added value sales of which to Diyarbakır and Bilecik we have realized is continuing for the moment.
We will also realize our new projects in line with the “Attraction Centers Programs”, announced by our state aiming to develop eastern and southeastern provinces and promote investment. I hope that the cited program, results of the application of which we expect to be announced within these months, will contribute to the removal of the unemployment issue in the region. We, as Toksel Makina, at this point will to support our investors with our most suitable project solutions for the region. We wholeheartedly believe in the potential of the region and that, at the underground and aboveground resources in the eastern part of our country will become even more attractive after the continuing wars in the middleeast are ended.
