Could you give us any information about Efectis Turkey and your services?

Efectis Era Avrasya which is the representative of Efectis Holding in Turkey has been founded as a partnership of Efectis Holding and Era Laboratory. It offers such services as fire tests, certification and fire engineering services to the customers in Turkey as well as Turkic Republics, Middle East and Balkans based on the testing and engineering experience of Efectis Holding dating back to 65 years.

Efectis Era Avrasya is the first accredited laboratory of reaction to fire test and fire resistance test of Turkey and it is an EU notified body under No. 2184 under the regulation on construction material No. (3.05 / 2011). We become stronger and attain a special status in the sector regarding the services that we provide under the scope of fire engineering based on the accumulation of knowledge and experience as confirmed by being an accredited test laboratory and an European Union notified body.

Could you please give us more detailed information about your services?

The services that we provide as Efectis Era Avrasya are provided to a great part of the building and construction sector. Our scope of services include fire engineering, fire tests, certification and supervision. The extensive test laboratories of Efectis makes it possible for us to apply almost all kinds of fire test methods. These range from standard tests up to the special tests of Efectis and specially designed tests in the areas determined by our customers. Fire safety engineering covers services like the modeling, risk assessments and field examinations that we apply in all building types including shopping centers , tunnels / subways and Industrial plants. On the other hand, the issuance of CE mark under the scope of the Regulation on Construction Material No. (305 / 2011 AB), product certification upon request, inspection and certification of buildings are included under the scope of our certification services. In short we provide test, certification and examination services in all areas of construction sector that you may think of including construction material, construction elements, construction, navigation and infrastructure.

As we offer a very extensive range of services we deal with a very wide customer portfolio including the producers of construction material, producers of fireproof construction elements, contracting companies and public institutions and organizations.

How did Efectis Turkey finished the year 2017?

The year 2017 has been a year of growth and break-through for us. In the last quarter of the year we changed the location of our laboratory with a view to develop its capacity and renew our test equipment and moved to our own building which is twice as big as the previous one. Throughout this process we also commissioned our cable test equipment to carry out reaction to fire tests which are required to obtain CE Mark for the cables and also extended the scope of our laboratory accreditation . Consequently we finished the year 2017 by achieving our goals that we have set for that years.

Could you please explain us the status and importance of your company in the Turkish and international markets?

Efectis is a leading European company mainly specialized in the field of fire safety sector. As we have stated above we provide service as an accredited fire test laboratory, notified body and fire engineering center based on the accumulation of knowledge of Efectis Group dating back to 65 years. These three competences make up a whole, which supports and fosters each other, making a great contribution to our service quality. Our services under the scope of product quality and safety, building quality and development of fire safety of buildings attract a great deal of interest not only from Turkey but also and particularly from Middle East, Balkans and Turkic Republics.

What kind of novelties and breakthroughs do you plan to realize for the upcoming period in line with the goals of your company in the year 2018?

Our main goal for the year 2018 is to meet the demands of the producers of fireproof construction elements both from Turkey and abroad more rapidly along with the activation of our new fire resistant furnace. Furthermore this year, as it was in the previous years, it is one of our foremost goals to continue and increase our efforts aiming at developing the awareness about the importance and necessity of passive fire safety.

What would you finally like to add to your statement?

It would be useful to mention the Regulation on the Construction Material (CPR) depending on the CE marking processes of cables. According to this Regulation it is compulsory to put on the market the power, control and communication cables used in the fixed installations in any building including infrastructure with CE mark as per EN 50575 standard beginning from June 10, 2017. The study titled “Assessment and Confirmation of the Unchangeability of Performance” which is an important part of this process must be carried out by the producers in collaboration with the Notified bodies authorized by the European Commission. What is first of all to be done for the purpose of the assessment of compliance is to test and confirm the reaction to fire classes declared by the producer at the test Laboratories of the notified bodies. According to the system of the Assessment and Confirmation of the Unchangeability of Performance (AVCP) the cables under the scope of Eca and Dca classes will be marked with CE according to the System 3 module. The responsibility of the notified body in the process of CE marking in System 3 module is only limited to reaction to fire tests.

The responsibility for the installation and permanent Improvement of Factory Production Control System (FPC) belongs to the producers. The Producers becomes entitled to affix CE mark on the product label by releasing DoP (Declaration of Performance) depending on the test results. On the other hand cables belonging to CCax, B2ca, B1ca and A1 classes will be marked with CE according to the system 1+s module. According to this model not only the responsibility for the performance of the tests but also for the supervision of the Factory Production Control System belongs to the notified body, regarding the issuance of CE mark. In case test and control processes are completed in compliance with the standards, the producer will be entitled to use CE mark on its product label by releasing a DoP (Declaration of Performance). As Efectis we perform our reaction to fire tests defined for CE marking under the scope of EN 50575 standard in our accredited laboratories and carry out CE marking procedures for the products.
