Akfil initiated negotiations with Indian origin KLJ company for exclusive authorized distributorship of Turkey at the beginning of year 2016 and came to agreement in June 2016. It started to provide services quickly to its customers along with this cooperation and succeeded to win approval and appreciation of its customers. Dear Boz Akfil answered our questions related to their company.
May you give information about corporate identity of Akfil ltd?
Akfil Elektrik Taahhüt ve Dış Ticaret Sanayi Ltd. Şti which is one of the Kılıç family companies gaining a permanent place in the electrical and cable sector with reliability in the last 50 years was established in year 2016. Akfil specialized in electricity and foreign trade provides services to its customers especially with chemical raw material import and export. Akfil initiated negotiations with Indian origin KLJ company for exclusive authorized distributorship of Turkey at the beginning of year 2016 and came to agreement in June 2016. It started to provide services quickly to its customers along with this cooperation and succeeded to win approval and appreciation of its customers. Our business partner KLJ is the biggest plasticizer and polymer components manufacturer of the South Asia continent today whose roots go back to 1967. Production facilities of KLJ domiciled in Silvassa, Bharuch in India and Rayong in Thailand make production in conformity with demands of its customers with the cutting edge technology. Furthermore, KLJ diversifies benzyl alcohol, benzaldehyde and derivatives. Thanks to its relations established with large suppliers, KLJ also markets petrochemicals, derivatives and polymers.
May you give information about your production capacity and products you are manufacturing?
As leader of Polymer component industry in South Asia region, our production capacity is 100.000 tpa and it continues to increase. We guarantee our customers for our consistent products with quality and low cost advantage with our high capacity automated factories, developed Research and Development department, testing and implementations departments. As Cable and Wire industry, our product range consists of PVC components, Sioplas PE, Isolation components (XLPE- up tp 33 KV), Peroxide PE isolation component (CCV line- 33 KV), semi-conductive component (for HV cables), EPR component (up to 11 KV), ZHFR component, Polyolefin component (HDPE/ MDPE/LDPE) and special Masterbatch and color assortments (PVC/ PE/ UNIVERSAL). Our plasticizer ranges are Phthalate Plasticizers, Maleate Plasticizers, Fire Resistant Plasticizes in order to address wire and cable industry in all aspects and our ESBO& Chlorinated Paraffin productions is over 300.000 tpa and it continues to increase.
We don’t just generate solutions for wire and cable industry but also provide solutions with TPR/ TPE/ PP/ EVA components produced for shoe, medical applications, automotive, electrical and electronic sectors.
May you mention about your Research and Developments activities?
Our tests continue in our 3 Research and Development facilities for our works and applications related to PVC components, XLPE components (XLPE, ZHFR, PO, EPR) and other components (PP, TPR/ TPE, EVA). Our Research and Development facilities possess advanced testing devices as well as we have extrusion facility for cables. Except our ordinary testing equipment, we test our products with FTIR, GC, high voltage testing equipment in order to carry out advanced level tests. The most important factor which makes our Research and Development department important is our Research and Development team beyond the technology we have. Our Research and Development department consisting of 70 persons continues to carry out their scientific researches with our team having doctoral degrees in order to make our products suitable to our customers’ needs.
May you mention about your company’s position and importance in Turkish and International Market?
As Akfil, we take successful and firm steps in this new period initiated with KLJ company. We believe that we serve cable sector by providing benefits and adding raw materials needed by cable manufacturers and which are not diversified in Turkey into our product range. For now, we have completed our tests and started to be solution partner for our customers’ problems with our fastest service policy at the point of high quality product supply as cable manufacturers domiciled in Turkey deserve.
What are your company’s targets for year 2017? Will you have new projects?
Our short and medium term targets are to continue to meet our customers’ needs at most advantageous prices without compromising quality and to develop our products. Our new projects are intended to reinforce our position in the market with XLPO/ EPR and ZHFR components. Furthermore, we extend our connected and removable product range for thermoplastic and thermoset applications. Finally, our activities continue on solar cable components in conformity with international features. We have always paid attention to our customers’ opinions and develop our products as per our customers’ needs.
