Underlining its target to provide necessary solutions for certain units such as new product or quality through relevant raw materials, compounds and master-batch components for the extrusion processes in imported or exported pipe and cable groups, Mr. Burhan KARAGÖZ has responded to our questions accordingly.
Could you please explain the foundation phase of BPolimer and the company’s current position?
“BPolimer” refers to the brand and the business unit of our company targeting plastic and chemical industries. The company intends to provide necessary solutions for certain units such as new product or quality through relevant raw materials, compounds and master-batch components for the extrusion processes in imported or exported pipe and cable groups. Regardless of its short historical background dating back to 2015, the company stands as a great partner for the consumers through its rapid supply operations and its solution and manufacturer oriented approach.
It is a challenging phase to manufacture a product or to establish a plant by reserving a considerable amount of capital. In return, the profit rates are extremely low. How do you maintain the balance? As an external party, it seems difficult to survive in the industry. How would you comment on this case?
We currently conduct manufacturing activities in accordance with applicable quality standards through our domestic and international partners, diversified machinery groups and laboratory operations. Manufacturing is a complex activity requiring a close follow up. On the other hand, the conditions of competition have become more challenging due to easy access to information. The primary principle of our corporation is to gain revenue in a careful and sensitive manner rather than just survival under the title of developing entrepreneur.
Would you like to detail the intended use of your products?
We would list our products under following categories: Plastic pipe applications Cable applications
Included in the priority group under such categories, our products are specific components enabling stable operation for all product groups dedicated to production line extrusion. Such components are also used in cable and pipe applications. These products refer to the cleaning units that increase efficiency with lower load on the reducing agent and blocking herringbone or sprout formations in accelerated processes through rapid commissioning.
We place particular importance on certain masterbatch and compound groups preventing from the spread of flames. These products act as flame-retardant agents in power pipe manufacturing process in accordance with TSE 61386-22 standard.
What is the impact of EUR-USD parity on your exports? What is the advantage of high exchange rates in consideration of your exports?
As an integral part of the entire financial market, foreign exchange rates and rapid fluctuations are vital for the business persons operating with foreign currencies. Our company follows up all losses and revenues brought by import and export operations in a balance sheet without any inconvenience. It would not be beneficial to consider the increase in foreign exchange rates as an advantage for exports. A unit of product is exported against a certain amount of foreign currency. In fact, the major increase occurs in TL depreciation. We need to focus on the background dynamics, which is a technical subject. It is more reasonable and profitable for us to maintain the balance.
Could you please comment on your company and your industry in the final quarter of this year promoting a more competitive ambient?
This should be interpreted under two different positions consisting of domestic and international markets. There are numerous global giants, national corporations and small-medium sized enterprises in our industry. The brands of such entities are promoted and announced mostly by broadcasting and exhibition activities. Yet, our brand shows up when a smoother structure is needed or the supply of a certain product takes too much time. Alternatively, we are contacted via our personal connections rather than corporate networks.
How do you regard the concept of brand for an effective marketing and sales strategy throughout the industry? What are the steps taken by your company for marketing and sales processes in terms of brand recognition?
Although the data of this year seems to be a negative motivation, it has a positive impact statistically. We believe in maintaining more balanced and positive conduct by 2019.
